I think many #independent beer fans have dreamed of opening their own shop where they could stock what they like and stand behind the bar proudly surveying their handiwork.
Which is why this post on the Beervana Blog struck me.
My version of a beer shoppe comes from a bit of a darker place, a place of poking at the Whale Broz. and Bandwagoners by “surge pricing” IPA’s and other passive/aggresive tactics but I do like the idea of having at least a small section devoted to styles that are not found in great numbers. Put them onto a decorated end cap and really push them in the manner of “Do you want fries with that?” Because innovation and not being satisfied is what brought this movement into being and we really do need to hold onto that, lest we become stagnant.
