Open Window

Creativity abounds even in dark times and Temescal Brewing has fused together the 1950s Food-a-Matic with the even older wine window to make a not so automatic beer delivery.

You scan a QR code, place your order electronically and when it is ready, a window opens and you get a beer. Of course it is humans behind those cubbyholes and not robots but it is a bit of whimsy much needed.

Winners!

The craft beer business history followers will catch the meaning behind the name of a new beer release at Eagle Rock. The clue is that Temescal Brewing is involved in the trio.

The Winning Team will be on tap on Friday, November 17, 2017, at the ERB taproom. Brewers from all breweries involved will be there and also on tap will be beers from all three breweries involved in the collab (HenHouse Brewing Co. and Temescal Brewing). If you can’t make the event 16oz 4-pack cans will also be available.

Bay Area (Oakland) Brewery # 1 – Temescal Brewing

The “High End” seems to think that their breweries can be grafted to any community. Maybe they are right. But they are getting rightfully pushed back on in cities like Oakland. Where the soil may not be fertile to former independent beer.

One brewery leading that charge is Temescal Brewing and that is who I feature today with my choices for an initial taster flight…
